HOUSEKEEPING COURSE

 

We offer a series of training classes for domestic helpers who are inexperienced in cleaning, washing and household maintenance. The course teaches them the proper cleaning techniques for household furniture, laundry procedures, and how to work household appliances. Helpers will also be given a training manual to refer to, as well as a schedule of tasks to follow daily.

 

The objectives of the course are to:

• Proper cleaning techniques for the floor, tables, appliances and other furniture.

• How to work common household appliances.

• Washing of dishes, cutlery and cooking tools.

• Laundry procedures, including sorting of laundry and how to read care labels.

• How to make beds and tidy rooms properly.

• Basic table setting techniques.

• Daily work schedule, including when to prepare meals, how often to clean different parts of the house and when to do the grocery shopping.

• How to communicate with employers when unsure of a task.
